Job Description

ECHO Personnel is recruiting a Precision Manual Engineer for one of our clients based in Corby. Our client is a well-established engineering company providing high-quality machining, fabrication, and maintenance services across a range of industries.

As a Precision Manual Engineer, youll be responsible for operating manual lathes, milling machines, and associated workshop machinery to produce high-quality components. Youll play a key role in ensuring parts are manufactured accurately and efficiently, working with a variety of materials and maintaining high engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and associated machinery
  • \n
  • Manufacture components to specification, working to tight tolerances
  • \n
  • Read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • \n
  • Perform machine setups, tool changes, and adjustments as required
  • \n
  • Work with materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, phosphor bronze, brass, and plastics
  • \n
  • Carry out quality checks using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, etc.)
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with H&S procedures
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines
  • \n

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in manual milling and lathe operations

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • \n
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking

Hours:

\n

8:30am 5:00pm
\n Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 30-minute lunch)
\n Overtime available
