The Role

As a Driver, you will safely transport service users to and from care centres, schools, and other community locations.

Working as part of a professional transport team based at the central depot in Dunstable, you will provide a vital door-to-door service while ensuring passengers feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport service users to and from designated locations.
\n
• Assist passengers when boarding and exiting vehicles.
\n
• Operate tail-lifts and safely handle wheelchairs and mobility equipment where required.
\n
• Provide a reliable door-to-door transport service.
\n
• Support passengers with dignity, patience, and respect.
\n
• Promote the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of passengers throughout their journey.
\n
• Work collaboratively with Passenger Assistants, Transport Officers, and the wider transport team.
\n
• Complete vehicle safety checks and maintain high standards of service.
\n

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence with D1 (no restrications) entitlement, PCV Licence, or a Taxi Licence
\n
• Previous driving experience
\n
• A caring and supportive nature
\n
• Good communication skills
\n
• Ability to assist passengers with mobility needs
\n
