HGV Class 1 Steel Delivery Driver – Dudley

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Steel Delivery Driver to join our well-established client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, weekly pay and immediate starts with a well-established business.

This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as a Steel Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Steel Delivery Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

 • £17.50 – £19.00 per hour DOE

Shifts:

 • Monday to Friday
\n  • Start times between 04:00 – 07:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Steel Delivery Driver, your duties will include:

 • Delivering steel products safely and efficiently
\n  • Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles
\n  • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
\n  • Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
\n  • Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
\n  • Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
\n  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues to management
\n  • Assisting with loading and unloading where required
\n  • Completing paperwork accurately and on time

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Steel Delivery Driver you will need:

 • Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
\n  • Minimum 18 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
\n  • Valid Driver CPC Card
\n  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n  • No major endorsement codes
\n  • Mandatory previous experience transporting steel
\n  • Good spoken and written English
\n  • Strong understanding of load security and road safety
\n  • Good communication and customer service skills
\n  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping

Desirable Experience:

 • Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
\n  • Experience securing steel loads

Training Provided:

 • Industry-related training provided
\n  • Ongoing support throughout the assignment
