Mission Care has had the privilege of providing residential and nursing care to vulnerable adults in South London for almost 120 years. Today we have five homes, four in the London Borough of Bromley, and one in Dulwich and pride ourselves on providing exceptional person-centred care to all of our residents.
\nWe now have a new and exciting opportunity for a Catering Team Lead to join our team at Willett House Nursing Home.
\nYou will be responsible for creating a wonderful meal experience for our residents, as well as making a positive contribution in providing a homely environment for our residents.

\nSummary of duties:
\nAs Head Chef, you will be a hands-on team lead in the kitchen. You will be responsible for delivering a wonderful meal experience for residents and forging strong relationships within the kitchen team and across the home. Main duties include (please request the job description for more information):
\nTeam Lead of the kitchen responsible for effective service delivery and strong relationships across teams.
\nOwnership of meal and snack delivery for residents and staff (meals) within the guidelines provided by the Catering Manager, and in accordance with best practice.
\nResponsible for reflecting residents dietary needs in meal and snack provision, including following IDDSI principles.
\nLead the highest standards of hygiene in kitchens.
\nEnsure very good presentation of meals and snacks to add to the meal experience.
\nAssist with food service by taking food and beverage trolley to the dining area within the home.
\nAssist with the preparation of menus per Catering Manager guidance.
\nMonitor provisions reporting to the Catering Manager ensuring stock levels are maintained in a timely and cost-effective manner.
\nAssist with ordering and deliveries.
\nAssist with washing up and putting away cutlery to ensure a presentable kitchen throughout the shift.
\nAssist residents at mealtimes as directed by the Nurse in charge
\nSupervision of Cook and Catering Assistants whilst playing a hands-on role in daily activities.
\nProvide On the job training to all staff ensuring effective records are kept.
\nSkills required:
\nTo be considered for this post, you must have the following:
\nThree years experience working as Cook in a Care Home kitchen, preferably in team lead role.
\nVery good knowledge of IDDSI, including up to date IDDSI training.
\nFood hygiene certificate Level 3 and HACCP Level 3.
\nThe ability to communicate positively with residents, relatives and colleagues in a constructive and collaborative manner.
\nWorking in a care home environment, you will have a genuine passion and desire to work with the elderly and those living with dementia and will be person-centred in your approach to residents.
