BAM UK & Ireland is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor who can strengthen our existing team on the new Fanellan substation, located near Beauly, Inverness-shire.

Initially, you will be based out of our Kilsyth office, before transitioning to site during the project delivery phase where you will likely be on site a minimum of 3 days per week with the remaining 2 days at one of our head offices (Kilsyth or Inverness). A living-away allowance will be provided for working away from home along with other package benefits.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing diverse projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness, with an emphasis on adding value
  • \n
  • Collaborating in joint venture projects, building productive relationships
  • \n
  • Excelling in contract negotiation for optimized project profitability
  • \n
  • Mentoring teams and enhancing operational capabilities
  • \n
  • Showcasing exceptional collaboration and communication skills
  • \n
  • Excelling in multitasking to meet deliverables without compromising quality
  • \n
  • Manage, supervise and mentor your reports within the commercial structure
  • \n
  • Provide and control the strategy of commercial contacts with clients representatives
  • \n
  • Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents
  • \n
  • Commercial management of subcontractors
  • \n
  • Monitor the timely production of reliable cost performance data
  • \n
  • Produce and present monthly/quarterly reports
  • \n
  • Be responsible for the timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contract
  • \n
  • Providing commercial advice to the site team and management on all contractual issues
  • \n
  • Produce the financial assessment of insurance claims with the insurers representatives
  • \n
What do you bring to the role?\n

Necessary:

\n
    \n
  • Successful experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or at Quantity Surveyor level looking to take the next step in your career, demonstrating effective core commercial skills
  • \n
  • Experience of NEC forms of contract
  • \n
  • Demonstrable ability to mentor and coach direct reports
  • \n
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the project team including the Client, Project Managers and Designers
  • \n
  • Have the confidence and ability to work within a team environment, and to have a positive influence on outcomes
  • \n
  • Relevant qualification (Degree, HNC/D)
