Multiskilled Engineer (Night Shift)
\nLocation: Stamford area
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Shift: 6:00pm - 3:00am
Working Days: Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday
About the Role
\nWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Multiskilled Engineer. Working as part of the engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining plant machinery, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement across site operations.
\nThis is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of performance, hygiene, and safety.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on plant machinery and equipment \n
- Minimise downtime and support production to meet operational targets \n
- Maintain site facilities and infrastructure to a high standard \n
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures (risk assessments, permits to work, etc.) \n
- Prioritise workload to support production efficiency \n
- Complete accurate daily maintenance records and documentation \n
- Support production start-ups and provide engineering presence on shift \n
- Identify and implement improvements to machinery, processes, and safety \n
- Ensure all work meets food safety, quality, and hygiene standards \n
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in audit-ready condition \n
What We're Looking For
\n- \n
- Multiskilled engineering experience (electrical and/or mechanical) \n
- Background within food manufacturing or FMCG preferred \n
- Experience with fault finding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance systems \n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively \n
- Good communication skills to liaise across departments and with contractors \n
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development \n
- Understanding of health & safety standards and safe working practices \n
Additional Responsibilities

- Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support \n
- Assist with training and development of team members where required \n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices \n
- Provide shift handovers and communicate key issues effectively \n
