Job Description
Our engineering clients based close to Fareham have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Technician to join their growing team.\n
\nThe Senior Production Technician will be able work with complex military connectors and have soldering and wiring skills and enthusiastic to join a busy production team!\n
\nSystem Assembly & Build Quality:\n
\n Assembly and test of IPCs, Servers, Racks and other electro-mechanical assemblies to defined specifications and the highest quality standards\n
\n Interpret and accurately follow work instructions, drawings and customer requirements\n
\n Proactively identify and challenge inconsistencies, errors or unclear instructions\n
\n Ensure full compliance with ESD controls and handling requirements\n
\n Take ownership of build quality, ensuring right-first-time delivery\n
\nSub-Assembly:\n
\n Manufacture and modify cable assemblies using approved tools and methods\n
\n Perform crimping, soldering and wiring to meet the requirements of IPC-A-620\n
\n Inspect and verify work completed by production technicians\n
\n Ensure all assemblies meet quality and durability requirements\n
\nSystem Installation, Configuration & Test:\n
\n Configure, install and test of Rack systems and IPCs, in line with customer requirements\n
\n Complete functional testing and ensure accurate recording of results\n
\n Diagnose and resolve basic build or configuration issues\n
\n Escalate complex technical issues appropriately\n
\n Share best practices and ensure consistent working methods with Junior Technicians\n
\nRequired Skills & experience:\n
\n Proven experience in electrical / electronic assembly within a manufacturing environment Hands-on experience building rack systems, IPCs, servers, or similar complex electro-mechanical assemblies\n
\n Strong capability in cable assembly, crimping, and soldering to recognised standards\n
\nWorking hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 08:00 16:00 and 30 minutes lunch break.\n
