Salary: Up to £16.00 - £18.00 per hour

Shift: 7:30am - 4:30pm (Mon - Thurs) 7:30am - 12:30pm (Fri)

The Prototype Welder Role:

\n

Due to continued growth into new sectors and expansion of their largest contracts, the company is undergoing a recruitment drive of up to 15 new engineers, assigned exclusively to Optima UK.

\n

As part of this planned growth, they are now looking to recruit a permanent Prototype Welder on their day shift.

  • The Position requires someone to MIG/TIG weld to a high quality and to work at speed ensuring targets are met.
  • \n
  • You will be able to work to high/tight tolerances and have experience working with mild steel.
  • \n
  • The position is based in the prototype department making one off parts.
  • \n
\n

The Candidate:

    \n
  • Over 12 months experience as a Welder
  • \n
  • Read blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • \n
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • \n
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications knowledge of using measuring equipment to quality check work.
  • \n
  • Fettling and grinding, sheet metal work and assembly.
  • \n
  • Quality check finished products.
  • \n
  • Record and report any issues.
  • \n
  • Manual handling of different tools to complete the job to the highest standards set.
