Based Cambridgeshire (PE13)Rate to £550 a dayAre you a driven Quantity Surveyor ready to take ownership on a flagship civil engineering scheme?I am seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure and groundworks packages across the UK. With a major civils and groundworks project now underway, they are looking to strengthen the commercial team with an ambitious QS who thrives in a fast-paced, high-value environment.The RoleAs Quantity Surveyor, youll play a key role in the commercial management of a large-scale civils and groundworks package. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and operational teams, youll ensure financial performance is maximised while maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.Key responsibilities:\n

• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts
\n
• Cost value reconciliation (CVR) and forecasting
\n
• Variations, valuations and change control management
\n
• Supporting contract administration (NEC experience desirable)
\n
• Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks/opportunities
\n
• Liaising with site teams to ensure accurate cost reporting
\n

Experience\n

\n
• Proven experience as a QS within civil engineering or groundworks
\n
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts
\n
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
\n
• Ability to manage packages independently
\n
• Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
\n
• Ambitious, detail-oriented and confident communicator
\n
