HGV Class 1 Driver – Ad Hoc / Weekend Trunking – Tamworth, Staffordshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
\n This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and flexible working with a large national client.

This position is ideal for drivers seeking additional hours, part-time work or semi-retired drivers looking for flexible shifts.

It will suit applicants who have previously worked in roles such as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

\n
• Friday, Saturday or Sunday
\n
• Start times between 08:00 – 14:00 or 20:00 – 23:00
\n
• Shifts averaging 8–11 hours
\n
• Very flexible work available
\n

Rates of Pay (PAYE):

\n
• £19.20 per hour – Monday to Friday
\n
• £20.35 per hour – Saturday and Sunday
\n
• Holiday pay accrued separately
\n

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your day-to-day duties will include:

\n
• Completing Class 1 trunking runs from depot to depot
\n
• Occasional deliveries to supermarkets
\n
• Occasional collections from suppliers when required
\n
• Operating refrigerated trailers safely and efficiently
\n
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks
\n
• Ensuring all loads are secure and transported safely
\n
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and company procedures
\n
• No handball required
\n

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

\n
• A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence
\n
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n
• A valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
\n
• A minimum of twelve month's Class 1 driving experience
\n
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers
\n

Desirable Experience:

\n
• Good knowledge of the UK road network
\n
• Experience working with chilled vehicles or refrigerated trailers
\n

Training Provided:

\n
• Driving assessment required prior to starting
\n
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout the assignment
\n
