Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Handle incoming telephone and email enquiries relating to same-day transport and logistics services.
  • \n
  • Process customer bookings accurately and efficiently.
  • \n
  • Monitor and track deliveries, providing updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Liaise with drivers, suppliers, customers, and colleagues to ensure the successful completion of transport requirements.
  • \n
  • Coordinate and manage time-sensitive shipments.
  • \n
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate operational records.
  • \n
  • Support the management of specialist transport requirements and large distribution projects on a rotational basis.
  • \n
  • Authorise invoices and assist with pricing activities.
  • \n
  • Monitor third-party shipments and resolve any delivery queries.
  • \n
  • Carry out a variety of administrative duties to support the Operations team.
  • \n
  • Participate in the out-of-hours rota to support the 24/7 operation.

Skills & Experience

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within a busy office, customer service, call centre, or logistics environment.
  • \n
  • Excellent telephone manner and strong communication skills.
  • \n
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • \n
  • High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • \n
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • \n
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • \n
  • Good geographical knowledge is advantageous.
  • \n
  • Previous experience within transport or logistics would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • \n

Offering

  • Starting salary of £25,500 per annum.
  • \n
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • \n
  • Monday to Friday, working an 8-hour shift between 8.00am and 6.00pm.
