Job Description
To carry out the duties of a Joiner and to contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective service within the Building Services Department (DLO).
\nResponsibilities\n
To undertake craft duties as directed by the Maintenance Repairs/Voids/Contracts Supervisor.
\nTo provide out of hours cover when required.
\nTo undertake training as required.
\nTo comply with all Health and Safety and security procedures and guidelines.
\nTo undertake any other duties as may be reasonably expected from time to time.

Time Served Joiner
\nSVQ Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent
\nCapable of working on own or as a team member
\nSelf confident and self motivated
\nFull driving licence
\nAbility to undertake daily checks on vehicle and record information accurately
\nAbility to follow routines and instructions
\nGood all round knowledge of joinery and general construction works
\nAble to communicate effectively with both members of the public and colleagues
\nAbility to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner
\nAbility to deliver high level of customer care
\nAbility to work as part of a team and contribute to the practice of effective team working
\nWillingness to accept direction/delegation
\nAbility to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service
\nMust be able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces
\nMust be able to move and handle equipment and materials in accordance with moving and handling regulations
\nThis is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Building Services team at the DLO, that directly employ over 150 multi trade and specialist support staff. Services provided include building maintenance and improvement services to the Council’s 6,300 houses, as well as reactive and planned maintenance to other Council buildings that includes schools, offices and libraries.
