Head of Family Law Opportunity – Taking over from retiring Partner\n
\n An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Solicitor or Head of Family Law with a full breadth of experience to lead an established Family department within a highly respected, long-standing law firm with an exceptional reputation across Greater Manchester.\n
\n This is a rare chance to take ownership of a thriving department while enjoying flexibility, strong support from a PA/Paralegal and full autonomy to work in the way that suits you best. The firm places complete trust in its senior lawyers, with no mandated office attendance. You're free to manage your diary as you see fit, attending the office primarily when meeting clients.\n

The Role:\n
You'll oversee a varied and rewarding caseload covering the full spectrum of Family Law matters while helping to drive the continued growth and success of the department.\n
Your caseload will include:\n

• Divorce matters
\n
• Children disputes
\n
• Public law children matters
\n
• Care proceedings
\n
• Legal Aid work
\n
• Domestic abuse and injunction applications
\n
• Child arrangements and parental responsibility matters
\n
• General family law advisory work
\n

\n The firm is looking for someone with broad technical expertise who is confident handling both privately funded and Legal Aid matters, with particular strength in childcare and children law.\n

About You\n
\n You'll ideally have:\n

\n
• Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent experience
\n
• Significant experience across Family Law
\n
• Strong knowledge of both private and publicly funded Family work
\n
• Experience in childcare and care proceedings
\n
• Experience handling divorce and financial remedy matters
\n
• The ability to supervise and develop a department (or the ambition to step into a leadership position)
\n
• Excellent client care and relationship management skills
\n
• A commercial mindset with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding legal advice
\n
