Class 1 Shunter

Location: Wakefield
Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off
Hours: 06:00 – 18:00
Pay Rate: £15.50 per hour.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV Shunter to join a well-established and growing operation based in Wakefield for an extremely busy distribution centre.

This role is not for the light hearted as it will involve circa 100 moves plus per day in a 12 hour period so needs someone with experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking for a site-based role with no road work involved, offering excellent work-life balance on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

• Shunting trailers around a busy distribution site
\n
• Moving vehicles safely between loading bays and designated areas
\n
• Conducting vehicle checks and reporting any defects
\n
• Working closely with warehouse and transport teams
\n
• Ensuring all site safety procedures are followed
\n

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
\n
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
\n
• Previous shunting experience preferred, but not essential
\n
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
\n
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
\n

• Competitive pay rate of £15.50 per hour.
\n
• Full-time hours on a consistent 4 on, 4 off rota
\n
• No road driving – entirely site-based work
\n
