An established and highly respected bespoke construction business operating across the Cotswolds is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team.

This is a rare opportunity to work on some of the region's finest private residential projects, including listed manor houses, heritage restorations, luxury refurbishments, bespoke country homes and architect-led developments valued in excess of £6 million.

The successful individual will play a key commercial role across multiple high-quality projects, working closely with operational teams, private clients, architects, consultants and specialist subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered successfully from pre-construction through to final account.

Whilst this position is being recruited as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, applicants with previous Contracts Manager experience, or those looking to utilise both their commercial and operational expertise, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Senior Quantity Surveyor The Role\n

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple high-end residential projects, ensuring robust cost control, contractual compliance and commercial success throughout the full project lifecycle.

Working closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers and Directors, you will provide commercial leadership from tender stage through to final account, whilst supporting project delivery and maintaining excellent client relationships.

\n

This position would particularly suit a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys becoming heavily involved in project delivery and has experience working closely alongside operational teams.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities\n

• Managing the commercial delivery of multiple prime residential projects

• Preparing budgets, cost plans and financial reporting
\n
• Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
\n
• Negotiating subcontractor accounts and variations
\n
• Preparing valuations, interim applications and final accounts
\n
• Managing project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
\n
• Administering contracts and ensuring contractual compliance
\n
• Working closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers and project teams
\n
• Supporting project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
\n
• Building strong relationships with private clients, architects and consultants
\n
• Attending project meetings and providing commercial advice

• Maintaining accurate financial forecasting and reporting

Senior Quantity Surveyor Candidate Profile\n

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in high-end residential construction and a passion for delivering exceptional projects.

\n

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential construction
\n
• Strong experience delivering luxury residential, heritage or listed building projects
\n
• Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
\n
• Experience managing projects valued up to £6 million and above
\n
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
\n
• Previous Contracts Manager experience or a strong understanding of operational project delivery would be highly advantageous
\n
• Excellent negotiation and client-facing skills
\n
• Strong communication skills with architects, designers and consultants
\n
• Exceptional attention to detail
\n
• A proactive, commercially minded and solutions-focused approach
\n
• Stable career history within high-end residential construction
\n

Senior Quantity Surveyor Location Requirement\n

Due to the location of projects and the collaborative nature of the business, applicants should ideally live within approximately 45 minutes of the Cotswolds region.
