Field Service Engineer
Job Description
We are recruiting an Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business specialising in the installation, maintenance and refurbishment of FMCGequipment.
\nThis is a varied role combining service, fault finding, installation and commissioning work across a broad range of machinery.

\nThe Role
\nYou will work both independently and alongside a team of engineers carrying out:

- Installation and commissioning of new and refurbished equipment \n
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) \n
- Reactive breakdown support and fault finding \n
- Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs \n
- Equipment refurbishment and relocation projects \n
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement activities \n
Typical Duties
\n- \n
- Electrical fault finding on 24V and 3-phase systems \n
- PLC fault finding and diagnostics \n
- Control panel assembly and wiring \n
- Fixed wiring installations and modifications \n
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics \n
- Hydraulic fault finding and repair \n
- Mechanical strip down and rebuild of equipment \n
- Installation and commissioning at customer sites \n
- Providing telephone and on-site technical support \n
What We're Looking For
\n- \n
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering \n
- 16th, 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations \n
- PLC knowledge and fault-finding capability \n
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on-site \n
- Strong problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis skills \n
- Full UK driving licence \n
- Willingness to travel nationally and stay away when required \n
The Working Pattern
\nThis is a field-based role covering the UK, Ireland and occasional European sites.
\nThe position includes:
\n- \n
- Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm \n
- Regular overtime opportunities \n
- On-call rota of 1 week in 5 \n
- National travel \n
- Overnight stays, occasionally up to 7 consecutive nights \n
- Occasional night and weekend working depending on customer requirements \n
