\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering main contractor delivering major water, utilities and infrastructure capital works projects across Surrey and the South East.\n
\nFollowing the award of several long-term contracts, including schemes for South East Water, our client is continuing to expand its commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially secure and growing contractor with a strong pipeline of work, offering long-term career progression and exposure to high-profile civil engineering projects.\n
\nThe Role\n
\nAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure capital works projects from procurement through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors, you will ensure projects are delivered efficiently while maximising commercial performance.\n
\nKey Responsibilities\n
\nCommercial management of water, utilities and civil engineering capital works projects.\n
\nPrepare and manage cost reports, forecasts and valuations.\n
\nProduce applications for payment, variations and final accounts.\n
\nProcure, manage and reconcile subcontractor accounts.\n
\nAdminister NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management.\n
\nMonitor project costs, budgets and cash flow.\n
\nWork closely with Operations and Planning teams to manage programme performance, progress and scope changes.\n
\nSupport monthly WIP reporting and commercial reviews.\n
\nIdentify commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.\n
\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.\n
\nAbout You\n
\nTo be successful in this role, you will have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering, infrastructure, water or utilities sectors and possess a strong understanding of commercial management on capital works projects.\n
\nEssential Requirements\n
\nExperience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, water or utilities.\n
\nStrong commercial knowledge of capital works projects.\n
\nGood working knowledge of NEC contracts.\n
\nExcellent cost management, forecasting and reporting skills.\n
\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.\n
\nStrong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.\n
\nFull UK driving licence.\n
\nDesirable\n
\nDegree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.\n
\nHNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a similar engineering qualification.\n
\nMembership of, or working towards, RICS or CIOB.\n
