Job Description
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
\nTo program, set and manufacture small-batch aerospace components.
\nPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
\n- \n
- Responsible for setting/operating and manufacturing a variety of small-batch components from engineering drawings to within tight limits, \n
- Responsible for setting a variety of CNC and Manual Gear Cutting Machine Tools for operators as and when required, \n
- Responsible for manufacturing all components within the agreed timescales and in accordance with the manufacturing plan, \n
- Responsible for manufacturing components to the required quality standard, \n
- Responsible for ensuring that the Companys requirements for maintaining material traceability are met, \n
- Responsible for using a wide range of measuring equipment to check small-batch components after manufacture, \n
- Responsible for making sure that product is suitably protected at all times, including for transit, \n
- Responsible for making sure that all manufacturing paper work is filled out correctly, \n
- Responsible for mentoring new staff as required, \n
- Responsible for carrying out all tasks allocated by the Supervisor in a timely and efficient manner, \n
- To ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times, \n
- To support team members with other tasks as and when required, \n
- To help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health & Safety procedures, \n
- To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required \n
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
\n- \n
- Programming training courses \n
- \n
Ability to set, program, and operate gear cutting machines
\n - Experience operating Gleason or Mikron gear cutting machines \n
- Ability to set and operate gear inspection equipment, including Goulder dual flank roll testers \n
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment \n
- Ability to edit programs \n
- Ability to work using Metric and Imperial \n
- \n
Computer literate and methodical
\n - Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment \n
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines \n
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
\n- \n
- Maths/English GCSE, (or equivalent) at grade C or above \n
- Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent) \n
- \n
Experience sharpening and maintaining gear cutting tools, including hobs
\n - Experience working in Aerospace Industry \n
