Maintenance Technician required for a busy workshop servicing and maintaining a varied fleet of rental vehicles. £1,500 joining bonus, Monday to Friday working, structured training and genuine career progression. Must have the right to work in the UK.

Location: Southampton (Romsey)\n
Pay: £15.69 - £16.00 per hour (circa £35,000+ per year depending on experience)\n
Joining Bonus: £1,500 (£750 paid in your first month's salary and £750 after successful completion of your 90-day probation)\n

\nWorking Hours Workshop based role working 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.\n
\n Flexible working hours between 7:00am and 6:00pm, with most technicians working 8:00am - 5:00pm. No weekend work required. Saturday overtime is entirely optional and paid at enhanced rates.\n

About the Role This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Technician, Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Service Technician to join one of the UK's largest commercial vehicle rental and fleet businesses.\n
\nWorking from a modern workshop, you'll carry out servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs across a varied fleet of vehicles, helping to ensure they remain safe, reliable and ready for customers.\n

\nMaintenance Technician Responsibilities\n

\n
• Carry out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance on fleet vehicles
\n
• Complete brake, tyre and general mechanical repairs
\n
• Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet safety and compliance standards
\n
• Identify worn or damaged components before they result in vehicle breakdowns
\n
• Carry out repairs and replace parts to manufacturer and company standards
\n
• Use workshop systems to accurately record completed work
\n
• Road test vehicles where appropriate and licence permits
\n
• Complete work to a high standard whilst maintaining a safe and organised workshop
\n

Maintenance Technicianrequirements\n
\n

\n
• Right to work in the UK
\n
• Full UK driving licence
\n
• Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification (NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent)
\n
• Practical workshop experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
\n
• Good understanding of vehicle inspections, brakes, suspension, steering and general mechanical systems
\n
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team
\n
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
\n

Technicians with a Level 2 qualification who are looking to progress to Level 3 are encouraged to apply, with structured training and development available.\n
