People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver – Leicester to join our well-established client based in Leicester, Leicestershire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and opportunities to grow and progress within a busy transport operation.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Delivery Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, or Truck Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
\n  • 06:00 – 16:00

Rates of Pay

 • £15.29 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Operating and driving Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Delivering goods to customer locations in line with planned routes
\n  • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
\n  • Adhering to all traffic laws and transport regulations
\n  • Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
\n  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues to management
\n  • Completing delivery paperwork accurately and on time
\n  • Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and professionally
\n  • No heavy lifting involved

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category C Licence
\n  • A minimum of six months' Class 2 driving experience
\n  • A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
\n  • No major endorsement codes
\n  • A good level of spoken and written English
\n  • Strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
\n  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills
\n  • Effective communication and customer service skills

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial driving experience would be beneficial
\n  • Multi-drop delivery experience advantageous
\n  • Experience completing customer-facing deliveries

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training provided
\n  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
