Mechanical Building Services Engineer
Job Description
BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join the Construction segment, based in Bristol. The role is based in Bristol with travel required to support projects across the Region. The role would report directly to the Building Services Construction Manager.
Making Possible\nInput at tender / cost planning stage including: evaluating M&E Consultants specifications and tender drawings; buildability reviews; alternative design philosophy; logistics and planning.
\nManagement of design team to meet their obligations (organising / chairing design workshops)
\nMonitor the production of M&E design information including interfaces with architects and structural engineers. Ensuring design details meet the Employers Requirements.
\nRaise, manage and monitor Technical Queries and Requests for Information (RFIs) as required
\nInput on tender lists for specialist M&E sub-contractors and major plant / equipment
\nEvaluate supply chain tender returns and quotations for specification compliance and best value.
\nLiaison with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure order completeness, spec compliance and interface with electrical and construction elements.
\nEngineering of contractors responsibilities such as fan / pump sizing, bracketry, expansion etc
\nRaise and agree Technical Submissions for Mechanical Plant & Equipment
\nManage and monitor the delivery of plant and equipment to meet programme (incl factory witness testing)
\nManage the production and delivery of M&E co-ordinated installation drawings to programme and budget.
\nChecking and sign off of co-ordinated installation drawings for design compliance, good engineering practice, operation, maintainability, CDM (H&S) and commissionabilty prior to issue.
\nManagement of CDP Specialists such as Sprinklers, BMS etc
\nPreparation and monitoring of Client and design changes
\nLiaison with Construction team members (incl site inspections)

What do you bring to the role?\n- \n
- Ideally will have an Engineering Degree or equivalent \n
- Experience working Construction industry within Building Services. \n
- Good inter-personal, communication and collaborative skills. \n
- Must be able to manage workload and good time management. \n
- Working well individually; as a team member; leading a team. \n
- Good knowledge of Mechanical systems & equipment and design / coordination requirements. \n
- Good IT skills in Excel & Word; and ability to use other IT software. (specific training will be given). \n
- Previous management experience would be beneficial for this role \n
