Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Purpose

\n

Manage quality and technical aspects of electrical engineering designs.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
  • \n
  • Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry.
  • \n
  • Direct and develop CAD technicians, more junior designers, and graduates.
  • \n
  • Direct, prepare scopes for, and check the output of subcontract electrical design teams.
  • \n
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
  • \n
  • Prepare design investigations, reports, and specifications.
  • \n
  • Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional, and group standards.
  • \n
  • Ensure project change for design packages is fully implemented and recorded.
  • \n
  • Estimate hours required for design packages.
  • \n
  • Present and attend meetings and design presentations.
  • \n

Required Qualifications and Experience

\n
    \n
  • 10 years relevant design experience in the water industry.
  • \n
  • Significant experience in LV design.
  • \n
  • Graduate or HND.
  • \n
  • Good level of IT skills.
  • \n
  • Registered with a professional body and working towards chartership.
  • \n
\n

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

\n
    \n
  • Chartered engineer.
  • \n
  • Experience in control and/or telecoms engineering.
  • \n
  • Experience with ATEX.
  • \n
  • Experience in HV, LV, and ICA designs.
  • \n
  • Awareness of construction methods and materials.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
  • \n
