\n Specific experience required
\n Estimating and/or operational experience in one or more of the following areas: shafts, tunnelling, pipeline, MEICA, rail civils and groundworks
\n Morson Edge are currently recruiting for an Estimator, on behalf of a tier one contractor working on the @One Alliance.
\n Working as part of their established estimating team, this role is to provide estimates for civil engineering projects in the water sector. As part of a successful, experienced, and diverse tendering team, the estimator will work alongside other estimators, with bid writers, procurement, and business development officers to collectively develop customer solutions and secure work.
\n Our client operates across civil engineering projects that include shafts, tunnelling, pipelines, MEICA, rail civils and groundworks, all of which we have the renowned in-house delivery capability. They are looking for a keen, driven, collaborative individual to join them as part of our business development.
\n Key Responsibilities
\n Prepare Estimates
\n Interpreting client tender requirements from PQQ and ITT documentation
\n Take off and review the BoQs from the client information
\n Prepare estimates in accordance with Company procedures promptly
\n Collate supporting information during the estimating process, including opportunity and risk registers, together with key assumptions registers.
\n Work collaboratively with the Bid Manager, regional business, and planner to agree on methodology and principles.
\n Work alongside the Business Development officers on strategic PQQ's and ITTs.
\n Work in partnership with the procurement team
\n Presentation of estimates at adjudication
\n Prepare the estimating adjudication pack
\n Present basis of estimate and key assumptions
\n Maintain notes of adjudication meetings
\n Close out actions
\n Handover to site teams at contract award
\n Prepare to estimate the handover pack
\n Present basis of estimate and key assumptions
\n Maintain notes of the handover meeting
\n Provide ongoing support to site teams relating to estimating and key assumptions and monitor customer negotiations, seeking amended authority as required
\n Essential
\n Estimating and/or operational experience in one or more of the following areas: shafts, tunnelling, pipeline, MEICA, rail civils and groundworks
\n Competence in construction techniques and the associated resource requirements for the above sectors
\n Proficient with tender build-ups
\n Fully conversant with using the Microsoft suite of packages
\n Numerate and familiar with estimating software
\n A confident demeanour and the ability to liaise with all levels of personnel and customers
\n Desireable:
\n Chartered Engineer or similar level
