Location: Peterborough

Salary : £30k-£34k OTE

Our client is seeking an efficient and reliable Vehicle Fitter to work in our factory, near Peterborough. The role requires a minimum of 2 years mechanical engineering experience and 2 years experience in automotive 12- volt and 48-volt electrical circuits is required. Welding would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.

Job Description:

As a Fitter for the UKs largest manufacturer of industrial electric vehicles, you will work in the Factory team, producing a wide range of vehicles.

Working on the front line of production, you will help maintain the high standards our customers expect. The job is challenging and interesting, with a lot of variation. Not only will you be responsible for building our own vehicles, but also for the maintenance and repair of the rental fleet.

The vehicles are used across a wide variety of industries, anything from oil rigs to motor manufacturing, airports to hospitals, golf courses to wildlife parks, atomic plants to power stations and more.

Experience and requirements:

• You will have 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, gained in an automotive, power generation, aviation, or manufacturing environments.
\n
• You will be experienced in electrical fault finding, repair and general maintenance of machinery.
\n
• Welding experience is an advantage, but not essential
\n
• You can communicate clearly on technical issues
\n
• You are comfortable prioritising tasks in a changing customer-driven environment
\n
• You can work on your own and as part of the team, when required
\n
• Clean driving license
\n
• The role would suit a positive can do attitude, underpinned by an active roll the sleeves up style
\n
• You are required to provide your own Hand Tools common to the trade, Air Tools required for the position will be supplied.
\n

Day to Day Duties:

\n
• Actively participate in the on-the-job training program
\n
• Build production vehicles as per given job cards
\n
• Prepare or repair rental vehicles, as per given job cards
\n
• Meet production build target hours
\n
• Ensure you are aware of and comply with the company Health and Safety Policy
\n

• Competitive rates - OTE 36-48k
\n
• Basic Hours of work 39 per week - overtime offered
\n
• Company profit share bonus scheme (minimum 1-year service to qualify)
\n

• Ongoing manufacture & inhouse technical training
\n
