HGV Class 1 Night Driver – Garretts Green, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our well-established client based in Garretts Green, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This position is ideal for applicants who have worked in a previous position as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• Working Monday to Friday
\n • Start times between 15:00 and 19:00

Rates of Pay:

• £17.25 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Carrying out RDC or trunking work (curtain-side, no handball required)
\n • Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
\n • Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
\n • Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
\n • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
\n • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
\n • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
\n • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE licence
\n • A minimum of twelve months' experience driving CE vehicles
\n • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
\n • A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
\n • Good spoken and written English
\n • Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
\n • A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
\n • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Previous commercial driving experience
\n • Previous multi-drop delivery experience

Training:

• Drivers will have a short assessment before any shift
