HGV Class 1 Steel Driver – Kingswinford

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Steel Driver to join our well-established client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and genuine opportunities to grow and progress.

This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday
\n • Start times between 04:00 – 07:00

Rates of Pay:

• £17.50 – £19.00 per hour (DOE)

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a HGV Class 1 Steel Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Delivering steel products (previous steel experience is mandatory)
\n • Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently
\n • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
\n • Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
\n • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
\n • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
\n • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
\n • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as required

Essential Skills:

As a HGV Class 1 Steel Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category CE driving licence
\n • A minimum of 18 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
\n • Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n • No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes
\n • Good spoken and written English
\n • Punctual with excellent time-keeping
\n • Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
\n • Effective communication skills
\n • Mandatory previous experience working with and transporting steel

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles

Training Provided:

• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
