HGV Class 2 Driver - Wetherby

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our client's growing transport operation in Wetherby and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering stability, great earning potential, and long-term progression.

This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Truck Driver.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday day shifts

Rates of Pay:

• £16.54 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:

• Safely operating and driving HGV Class 2 Driver vehicles to and from delivery locations
\n • Delivering drinks and alcohol products to pubs, bars, restaurants and other hospitality venues, working alongside a Driver's Mate
\n • Completing loading and unloading tasks with care and accuracy
\n • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects to management
\n • Adhering to all traffic laws and road safety regulations
\n • Maintaining accurate delivery records and paperwork
\n • Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, and site staff
\n • Carrying out some manual handling and handball duties

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C Licence
\n • A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n • No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN, DR, DD, CD codes)
\n • Reliability, professionalism, and punctuality
\n • Good communication and customer service skills
\n • Understanding of road safety and compliance
\n • Ability to work with a Driver's Mate to complete multi-drop deliveries

Desirable Experience:

• Previous commercial or multi-drop delivery experience
\n • Experience handling large or bulky goods
\n • Strong customer interaction and service skills

Training:

• Full industry-related training provided
\n • Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
