International Trade Compliance Manager

Salary: up to £75,000

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced International Trade Compliance professional looking to take ownership of a critical compliance function within a leading aerospace and defence business?

We're recruiting an International Trade Compliance Manager to become the site's subject matter expert for all aspects of International Trade Compliance. You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with UK and US export regulations, supporting government audits, developing business-wide compliance processes and providing expert guidance to stakeholders across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected engineering business operating within a complex and regulated environment.

The Role

As ITC Manager, you will act as the focal point for all International Trade Compliance matters across the business, supporting both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the business's International Trade Compliance expert
\n
• Providing export classifications for products and services and maintaining records within the ERP system
\n
• Conducting customer and supplier screening activities
\n
• Ensuring compliance with UK Export Control regulations
\n
• Supporting compliance with US ITAR, EAR and Dual-Use regulations
\n
• Developing and maintaining export compliance procedures, controls and records
\n
• Supporting HMRC, MoD and Government compliance audits and visits
\n
• Advising engineering, procurement, projects, commercial and operational teams on trade compliance matters
\n
• Developing user-friendly processes, templates and controls to support business compliance
\n
• Delivering training and guidance across the organisation
\n
• Liaising with Chambers of Commerce and Government bodies
\n
• Supporting internal compliance audits and group compliance requirement
\n

The successful International Trade Compliance Manager will ideally have the below experience:

Essential:

\n
• Experience within the Defence and/or Aerospace industry
\n
• Strong understanding of UK import and export compliance requirements
\n
• Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR and Dual-Use regulations
\n
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance activities
\n
• Ability to interpret complex legislation and provide practical business guidance
\n
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
\n
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities
\n
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
\n

Desirable:

\n
• Previous experience developing compliance procedures and controls
\n
• Experience delivering training across multiple business functions
\n
• Commercial awareness and understanding of operating within a customer-focused environment
\n
