Salary: To £90k + PackageAre you an experienced Design Manager with a background in civil engineering and water infrastructure? We're looking for a proactive and collaborative professional to join a well-established infrastructure contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects across the North West.This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring innovative, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions.The RoleAs Design Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating and managing multidisciplinary design teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions on civil engineering water projects. Working closely with operational teams, clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, you'll ensure designs are developed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and budget requirements.Key Responsibilities\n

• Lead and coordinate the design process across multiple water infrastructure projects.
\n
• Manage consultant appointments and monitor design deliverables against programme milestones.
\n
• Review designs to ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and relevant legislation.
\n
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure buildable and efficient design solutions.
\n
• Identify and manage design risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
\n
• Support value engineering initiatives to improve project outcomes.
\n
• Attend design reviews, client meetings, and technical workshops.
\n
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and promote best practice in design safety.
\n

About YouWe're looking for someone who can demonstrate:\n

• Previous experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator within civil engineering.
\n
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
\n
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
\n
• Excellent understanding of design management processes and project delivery.
\n
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
\n
• HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
\n
• Membership of a relevant professional institution is advantageous.
\n
