\n The Machinist will manufacture piece parts and sub-assemblies using various machine tools in accordance with laid out specifications/drawings, work instructions and quality procedures. The ideal candidate will be skilled in CNC milling and possess a proven track record to include manual machining.
What you will do:

\n
• Set, edit programs and operate CNC milling or turning machine to machine parts to specifications.
\n
• Manufacture parts and components in a low volume production environment to engineering drawings.
\n
• Manufacture or modify tooling, such as jigs, fixtures and moulds.
\n
• Lay out and verify dimensions of parts, using precision measuring and marking equipment and knowledge of trigonometry.
\n
• Demonstrate ability to achieve times specified on job travellers as indicated by Production Engineering to meet production requirements.
\n
• Demonstrate ability to utilise Epicor (ERP) system for logging work times to maintain booking compliance.
\n
• Active involvement in improving workshop facilities as part of the lean program.
\n
• Support continuous improvement efforts through involvement in structured problem solving and other activities using LEAN concepts.
\n
• Report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence or dangerous condition to their line management in line with procedure.
\n
• Switch off and secure unattended plant or equipment.
\n
• Avoid improvised arrangements and suggest safe ways of eliminating hazards.
\n
• Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all Health & Safety requirements associated with the role.
\n
• Never place themselves or fellow employees in danger by their actions.
\n

What you will need:
\n Essentials:

\n
• Minimum of 3 years experience in engineering with proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator.
\n
• Ability to understand and machine to ISO engineering drawings and ability to work to close tolerances.
\n
• Competence in using measuring equipment e.g., micrometres and Vernier callipers.
\n
• Basic IT skills.
\n
• Good knowledge of 5S principles.
\n

Desirable:

\n
• Time served craft apprenticeship.
\n
• Experience with CNC setting and operating CNC Vertical mills preferably with either: Winmax 5 (Hurco) or Fanuc (Parkson) Controls or experience with programming, setting and operating CNC lathes with either Mazatrol (Mazak) control or Siemens control (Doosan Puma)

\n Early Shift: Monday Thursday 06:00 14:15, Friday 06:00 12:00
\n Late Shift: Monday Thursday 14:15 22:30, Friday 12:00 18:00

- Holiday Entitlement: 25 days per annum plus 8 statutory bank holidays
