\nAs an organisation, there is little we dont do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.\n
\nThis role is in ourPlant and Fleet department,Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs. Offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.\n

What will you be doing?\n
\nAn exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and ambitious individual to join a growing plant hire division, working closely alongside the Plant Engineer and senior leadership team.\n
\nThis role is ideally suited to someone already established within the plant industrysuch as a Senior Fitter or Workshop Engineer who is ready to step into a Plant Engineer position, with structured support and development provided.\n
\nFrom day one, involvement in the full scope of plant engineering activity will be expected. Responsibilities will be shared with the current Plant Engineer, offering the opportunity to build knowledge, confidence, and experience across all aspects of the role, ahead of future full accountability.\n
Technical Leadership & Plant Specification\n

  • Support the specification, acquisition, and management of plant and equipment
  • \n
  • Ensure plant aligns with operational requirements and long-term business goals
  • \n
  • Keep up to date with technical developments, supplier innovations, and industry regulations
  • \n
  • Carry out performance and reliability assessments
  • \n
Commercial & Business Support\n
    \n
  • Contribute to plant lifecycle modelling and asset planning
  • \n
  • Support tender and bid preparation
  • \n
  • Provide technical expertise to internal teams, customers, and suppliers
    Supplier & Asset Management
  • \n
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers
  • \n
  • Participate in technical reviews, inspections, and investigations
  • \n
Site Visits & Stakeholder Engagement\n
    \n
  • Travel nationwide to customer and supplier sites
  • \n
  • Support and represent the engineering function in meetings and projects
    What youll bring
  • \n
  • Solid experience within the plant or construction equipment industry
  • \n
  • Background as a Senior Fitter, Workshop Engineer, or similar
  • \n
  • Strong technical knowledge of plant equipment and maintenance
  • \n
  • Commercial awareness and interest in asset management
  • \n
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • \n
  • Willingness to travel across the UK
  • \n
