Deritend, part of the Rubix Group, provide 24/7 engineering services. We repair, overhaul, install, and maintain pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic equipment and cover a wide range of industrial equipment for customers across multiple sectors.
\n The Technician role is a multi-skilled position, responsible for the installation, assembly, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of industrial systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities

- Analyse job cards and work instructions to determine scope, status, limitations, and requirements. \n
- Inspect, test, assemble, and commission industrial equipment to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal standards. \n
- Carry out fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of equipment in a safe and efficient manner. \n
- Record in detail work undertaken, parts used, and time spent, ensuring accurate completion of job documentation. \n
- Use precision measuring equipment such as Vernier's, micrometers, and dial test indicators. \n
- Operate workshop and site equipment safely, in line with training and company procedures. \n
- Liaise with customers, colleagues, and management to provide updates and technical support. \n
- Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and delivered on time. \n
- Promote and uphold company values, focusing on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. \n
- Strip down, repair, identify component wear, reassemble, and test wide range of pumps (centrifugal, submersible, multistage, progressive cavity, turbine, positive displacement etc.) to OEM or customer specifications. \n
- Carry out shaft alignment, balancing, and performance testing. \n
- Occasional sitework for installation, laser alignment and commissioning may be required. \n
Key Skills / Qualifications

- Proven engineering/technical background in industrial maintenance. \n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals. \n
- Experience using hand tools, workshop machinery, and test equipment. \n
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills. \n
- Good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with colleagues and customers. \n
- Flexible, with the ability to work both in the workshop and on customer sites. \n
Good to Have Qualifications
\n- \n
- Recognised apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent). \n
- Specialist training/certification where applicable (e.g., lifting, confined space, electrical testing). \n
- Valid UK driving licence preferred. \n

- Comply with company and statutory health & safety regulations at all times. \n
- Take responsibility for personal safety and that of others in the workplace. \n
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained in safe working order. \n
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly. \n
