Job Description
To provide an efficient and effective reception and clerical support service within the school.
\nResponsibilities\n

- To provide a general reception service to members of the public and visitors to the school. \n
- General clerical duties. \n
- Typing/word processing. \n
- Book keeping as required. \n
- Other duties. \n
The Individual\n
- \n
- Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technology and equipment e.g. photocopier, E-mail, Intra/Internet \n
- Significant clerical/administration/typing experience, including production of letter/report, filing, cash handling and dealing with the public \n
- Experience of using a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Phoenix, Publisher, Seemis \n
- 4 SQA standard grades or equivalent (at level 3 or above, including English and Mathematics/Arithmetic*) \n
- Advanced keyboard qualification (RSA II in typing, audio typing, word processing)/ ECDL/Clait* (or equivalent working knowledge of Microsoft software packages) \n
- Ability to use initiative when required \n
- Flexible in approach and open to different ways of working \n
- Self-confidence and self-motivated \n
- Effective communication skills: oral and written \n
- Excellent interpersonal skills \n
- Ability to record information accurately \n
- Strong customer care skills and focus \n
- Ability to work on own and as part of a team \n
- Sound knowledge of software packages e.g. Microsoft Office \n
- Ability to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy and literacy \n
- Effective organisational skills/time management with the ability to respond to conflicting and competing demands \n
- Ability to prioritise workload, in accordance with objectives and targets \n
- Ability to relate well with all levels of staff \n

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
\n Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
Working Pattern: Wednesday & Thursday
\nClosing Date: 07 August 2026
\n Starting Salary: £26,898 (pro rata)
\n £14.27 per hour
\n 9 hours per week (47 week contract, i.e. term time working plus balance of days to be worked during school holiday periods)
