Machine Operator
\n📍 East Lothian
\n💷 14.00 - 14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
\nAbout the Role
\nWe're looking for a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join a busy packhouse team in East Lothian. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for operating machinery used to process and pack seasonal produce, helping to ensure high standards of quality, efficiency and safety.

\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Set up and operate packhouse machinery in line with production requirements \n
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments where required \n
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and report maintenance issues \n
- Conduct quality checks on raw produce and finished products \n
- Ensure all products and packaging meet traceability requirements \n
- Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas \n
- Monitor waste and ensure correct handling and labelling procedures \n
- Support production operatives with quality standards and best practices \n
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to achieve production targets \n
- Follow all health, safety and hygiene procedures \n
Working Hours
\n- \n
- Approximately 40 hours per week \n
- Shifts agreed with Packhouse Management \n
- Flexibility required, including occasional weekends and overtime during peak periods \n
About You
\nYou'll be:
\n- \n
- Detail-oriented with experience working in a production or manufacturing environment \n
- Reliable, punctual and a strong team player \n
- Able to communicate effectively in English \n
- Familiar with food hygiene and health & safety practices (training can be provided) \n
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment \n
- Able to travel to the site, as public transport options may be limited \n
