This role is accountable for developing and executing impactful Medical Plans, including supporting the launch and lifecycle management of rezafungin in invasive fungal disease, and ensuring the generation and communication of world‑class medical evidence aligned with global strategy.ResponsibilitiesMedical LeadershipLead and develop the UK & Ireland Medical Affairs team, ensuring excellence in Anti‑Infectives Medical Plans that enhance patient outcomesAct as a key member of the UK Leadership Team, providing strategic medical input and strong business partnershipCoach and develop talent, building core capabilities and a high‑performing medical organizationEnsure robust medical governance, with full compliance to local regulations and codes of practiceAlign with Global Medical Anti‑Infectives and Established Brands teams on strategy, insight generation, and data communicationManage the Medical Affairs budget effectively across UK & IrelandPartner with Global Medical Operations to embed systems, processes, and best practices locallyFoster a Specialty Care culture focused on patient‑centricity, deep scientific expertise, and strong external collaborationContribute to Cluster Medical Affairs strategy and ongoing evolution of Medical as a strategic functionExternal EngagementBuild and maintain scientific partnerships with key external experts, institutions, and medical societiesLead patient engagement initiatives, including collaboration with patient advocacy groupsAct as a medical spokesperson in alignment with communications strategyEngage with external stakeholders, including competitor organizations where required, to resolve scientific or compliance mattersCross‑Functional CollaborationProvide expert medical guidance on Anti‑Infectives strategies, promotional/non‑promotional activities, and scientific contentPartner closely with Marketing to ensure aligned and effective execution of initiativesCollaborate with Regulatory, Drug Safety, R&D, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless Scientific Affairs operationsOversee review and approval of materials in compliance with UK and Irish Codes of PracticeEnsure all country activities meet regulatory and company standardsSkills & QualificationsEducationMedical Doctor or Pharmacist (MD strongly preferred)Additional qualifications such as higher medical degree or Pharmaceutical Medicine are desirableCertificationMD, MPharm, or equivalentGMC revalidation (for MDs)Experience7+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs2+ years’ clinical practice experienceExperience in Anti‑Infectives (clinical or industry)Prior experience as a Country Medical Director (desirable)Proven success in Specialty Care and/or Rare Disease launchesStrong track record of building external scientific partnershipsSkillsFluency in English (written and spoken)ABPI Medical Signatory expertise (mandatory)Strong strategic thinking and leadership capabilityExperience working across global or multi‑market environments (desirable)Knowledge of Clinical Development/Operations (desirable)What we offer in returnCompetitive compensation packageOpportunities for professional growth and leadership developmentCollaborative, inclusive, and values‑driven work environmentOpportunity to shape medical strategy and deliver meaningful patient impactDiversity and inclusionAt Mundipharma, we are committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
