Director of Building Surveying Dilapidations Specialist

Rainford Berry is recruiting on behalf of a leading independent property consultancy for an experienced Director of Building Surveying with a strong specialism in dilapidations. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded senior professional to lead and grow a high-performing dilapidations service line for investor, institutional, logistics and retail clients.

Our client is a consultancy specialising in development, built asset, engineering and sustainability services. They advise investors, developers, occupiers and property owners across the commercial property sector.\n
The Role\n

• Lead and develop the clients dilapidations service line, combining technical strength with commercial focus.
\n
• Deliver high-quality building surveying and dilapidations advice across a broad commercial property portfolio.
\n
• Support business planning, service development, best practice, quality control and knowledge sharing.
\n
• Manage client relationships, win new work and contribute to fee delivery and profitability targets.
\n
• Mentor and develop colleagues while working collaboratively with wider service teams.
\n

About You\n

\n
• MRICS with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
\n
• Strong technical expertise in building surveying and dilapidations.
\n
• Established commercial property contacts and the ability to generate work.
\n
• Confident, personable and credible with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
\n
• Proven ability to lead, influence, manage performance and respond constructively to challenges.
\n

Skills and Market Awareness\n

• Excellent communication, teamworking and client-facing skills.
\n
• Comfortable in business development and managing multiple instructions.
\n
• Able to prioritise effectively while supporting quality, risk management and team wellbeing.

• Commercially aware, with an understanding of current property market trends and client challenges.
