CNC Recruitment are looking for a skilled and reliable Quality Engineerto join our client in Yeovil a well-respected aerospace engineering company.
\nPay - £40,000 - £45,000 Per Annum
Woking hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am 5.30pm and Friday 8.00am to 12pm
Job Type: Temp to Perm (Permanent after 16 weeks)
Role Overview
\nWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with strong experience in Health & Safety to support and enhance our Business Management Systems while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role will play a key part in supporting our Quality Manager in driving continuous improvement, reducing risk, and promoting a culture of quality and safety across the organisation.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nQuality
\n- \n
- Develop, implement, and maintain Business Management Systems (BMS) in line with AS9100 standards. \n
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. \n
- Analyse quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). \n
- Lead root cause analysis investigations using tools such as 8D and FMEA. \n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance product reliability. \n
- Support in the management of customer returns, ensuring timely investigation and implementation of robust preventative actions. \n
- Support initial and ongoing supplier approval management. \n
Health & Safety
\n- \n
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. \n
- Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate workplace hazards. \n
- Promote a strong safety culture through training, awareness, and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, ensuring thorough reporting and implementation of corrective and preventative actions. \n
- Maintain and improve Health & Safety management systems. \n
- Support the management and completion of inspections where required. \n
Environmental

- Support adherence to all applicable environmental legislation, including ROHS & REACH. \n
Key Requirements
\nEssential
\n- \n
- Proven experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment. \n
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and standards (e.g. AS9100). \n
- Minimum Internal Auditor certification (ISO9001 / AS9100). \n
- Demonstrable experience in Health & Safety practices and UK legislation. \n
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. \n
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8D). \n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Proven experience in a Quality Engineer role within an aerospace environment. \n
- Lead Auditor certification (ISO9001 / AS9100). \n
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification). \n
