HGV Class 1 Driver

Were looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our chilled distribution operation based in Newton Abbott. In your role as a HGV Driver, you will be operating refrigerated articulated vehicles, delivering and collecting chilled stock from Local and Regional Distribution Centres as well as Farms and Packhouses across the UK.

Shifts: Friday to Tuesday Days (Start time between 05:00 and 07:00)

Salary:

• Days Guaranteed annual salary of£40,580
\n
• Average hourly rate £15.61
\n
• Guaranteed 50 hours per week
\n
• Overtime paid at an enhanced rates
\n

What you'll be doing:

\n
• Carrying out chilled distribution deliveries to local and regional distribution centres, as well as Farms and Packhouses
\n
• No requirement to self tip, Stores responsibility to load and unload
\n
• Collecting equipment or returns from customer locations and bringing them back to site.
\n
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
\n
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
\n
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
\n
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
\n
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
\n
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
\n

• Possessionof LGV Class 1 Licence
\n
• Current CPC
\n
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers hours.
\n
• Excellent communication skills
\n
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
\n
• Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadline
\n
