Job Description
A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team around Hampshire.
\nResponsibilities of Managing Quantity Surveyor:
\n- \n
- Provide accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels \n
- Draft and update monthly CVRs, cost and commercial plans, and cash flow reports \n
- Compile upstream applications for payment through to final account settlement \n
- Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and financial accounting \n
- Liaise with clients and third parties on commercial issues including contractual change, claims, and additional payment \n
- Effectively manage contract and subcontract agreements, primarily IChemE and NEC forms \n
- Ensure supply chain is engaged with correct contract terms and conditions, maintaining strong relationships \n
- Support all internal commercial processes, ensuring adherence to timeframes and compliance \n
- Identify and realise commercial opportunities whilst protecting the business from commercial risk \n
- Share best practice and proactively advise site teams on cost management and efficiencies \n
Essential Requirements for Managing Quantity Surveyor:
\n- \n
- Previous experience in the construction industry in a commercial role \n
- Familiarity with IChemE and NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law \n
- Proven experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement \n
- Demonstrable experience of monthly forecasting and cost analysis \n
- Excellent communication, numerical, and IT skills including Microsoft Office \n
- Strong organisation and time management skills \n
Desirable:
\n- \n
- Member of RICS or working towards \n
- CSCS card \n
- HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent \n
- Experience working for a direct delivery contractor \n
- Knowledge and experience in estimation \n
