Job Description

Cedar Lodge Care Home is a well established service in Taunton, Somerset, providing specialist dementia, palliative and respite care for up to 39 residents, alongside The Limes, a dedicated mental health community supporting a further 15 individuals. Set in a peaceful location, the home offers a welcoming, supportive environment with a strong focus on personalised care, dignity and wellbeing across both services.\n

  • Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided

  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview\n
\nAs an Activities Assistant, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.\n
\nYou will plan and deliver engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction. Activities will be tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs, including those who may require a more structured or sensitive approach to engagement.\n
\nBuilding positive relationships is essential, helping you understand individual preferences, behaviours and communication styles to support inclusive participation. You will create a calm, supportive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, confident and connected.\n
\nWorking closely with the wider team, you will contribute to a consistent and supportive environment, adapting activities where required and responding appropriately to changes in mood, behaviour or wellbeing.\n

  • Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
