Senior Quantity Surveyor

A highly regarded regional main contractor is looking to appoint a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a key role within its commercial team during an exciting period of sustained growth.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Senior QS seeking greater autonomy, influence, and long-term progression within a business that genuinely values its people and takes pride in the quality of its work.

This is not a role where you will simply manage numbers from a spreadsheet.

You will be a trusted commercial lead, involved in key decision-making from tender stage through to final account, helping shape project strategy, protect margins, and drive commercial success across the business.

You will work directly with senior leadership and operational teams, becoming a key voice in how projects are delivered.

Youll be commercially leading a varied portfolio of projects including:

• Premium residential developments

• Complex refurbishment and extension schemes

• Education and healthcare facilities

• Commercial and mixed-use developments
\n
• Hotel and leisure projects
\n
• Community and public sector works
\n

The workload offers excellent variety, with projects ranging from technically challenging refurbishments in live environments through to high-specification new build schemes.

• Take full commercial ownership of projects from inception to completion
\n
• Lead procurement strategy and subcontractor negotiations
\n
• Maximise profitability while managing commercial risk
\n
• Produce accurate forecasting, CVRs, and financial reporting
\n
• Manage valuations, variations, and final accounts
\n
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
\n
• Support project teams in achieving programme and budget objectives
\n
• Mentor and develop junior commercial staff where required
\n

You will be commercially sharp, confident in your decision-making, and capable of operating with minimal supervision.
