Job Description
Location: Halesowen, West Midlands
Salary: £14.85 per hour + Shift Allowance
Hours: 40 hours per week (37.5 hours + 2.5 hours overtime)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
We are recruiting for an experienced Heavy Engineering Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business specialising in open die forgings and heavy engineering.
\nThis is not a high-volume production environment. We are looking for an engineer with experience working on large, older machine tools within industries such as heavy foundries, steelworks, forging, boring and milling, heavy machining or similar heavy industrial manufacturing.
\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, fault-finding and repairing heavy engineering machinery, ensuring production equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs. \n
- Fault-find and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults on heavy industrial machinery. \n
- Maintain and repair large machine tools, boring and milling machines and associated production equipment. \n
- Install, service and commission machinery where required. \n
- Read and interpret engineering drawings. \n
- Complete maintenance records using the CMMS system. \n
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime. \n
- Promote high standards of health and safety at all times. \n
To be successful, you'll ideally have experience working within:

- Open die forging \n
- Foundries \n
- Steelworks \n
- Heavy machining \n
- Boring and milling environments \n
- Heavy industrial manufacturing \n
You'll also have:
\n- \n
- A time-served engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3/BTEC (or equivalent) \n
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown maintenance experience \n
- Experience maintaining older machine tools and heavy industrial equipment \n
- The ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical approach \n

- Welding and fabrication experience \n
- Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge \n
- Overhead crane or forklift experience \n
- Experience using CMMS maintenance systems \n
- \n
