Fork Lift Truck / Logistics Operator 1 year contractBased Central Derby Working days Monday to Friday 37hrs per week£14.80hr PAYE plus 33 days paid hols (includes 8 Bhols)PURPOSE OF THE JOBYou are in charge of executing physical flows of the goods (purchased and manufactured items): reception, put away, storage, picking and line feeding, packing, shipping, inventory, materials handling. Your target is to align physical and systems flows.Organisation structure Supply Chain / Logistic / WarehouseReports directly to: Warehouse Manager (SC-LO-01), Logistic Manager (SC-LO-00)MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Main tasks:Apply rules in order to operate in an environment that complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies: Know and follow all safety, environmental and emergency proceduresRespect the safety conditions to handle goods, trolleys etc.Actively participate in all aspects of safety including reporting of near misses and meetingsNotify Warehouse Mgmt. of all safety, site keeping or maintenance issues that are found during inspection that require assistanceExecute Information system update & ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) transaction before each physical movement by using IT tools (mobile device) in place in your site to manage correctly the system flowKnow and use the ERP transactions to align physical and system flows and know the interactions between themDetect, treat anomalies and know how to report those that cannot be resolved to their managerPrioritize its activities according to emergencies (manage missing parts, …)Ensure the preservation of materials during the all processes (handling, storage, line feeding, NCR, shipment, ...)Participate in the continuous improvement of the processes by being a force of proposalApply and respect the appropriate methodologies & processesBelow the different key process activities where logistic operators can work: Inbound flowsPerform goods receipt in a real time using ERP system and store correctly the materials in the stock (put away)StorageApply safe conditions of storage (max. weight capacity) and EHS (Environment, Health, Safety rules for hazardous materialsUpdate the ERP on real time at each material movements (use the mobile devices)Proceed to scrap after receiving the management authorizationInventoryRespect and follow procedures for inventory counting rules (blind count, stock reconciliation and delegation of authority, …)Picking & line feedingPerform the picking and kitting activities on time in ERP (picking-list, labels) and prepare material for the production line at the expected level (parts individually identified, protected and easily accessible)Respect the footprintPacking & shippingTreat the shipment request on time, realize packing, shipping activities at the right quality levelNCR logistic cellCarry out the logistical processing of NCR (Non Conformity Report) according to the established NCR processTrack the NCR physically and in the system (segregated or jail area, blocked stock, …)Create, treat and follow the logistics NCR based on the inputs provided by the teams (detection of non-compliance, …)Work closely with quality and material planning teams on a daily basis to solve and close the NCR within a reasonable delayHandlingRespect the handling and storage rules in force (have the required specific qualifications, driving license, …)MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCESExperience Mandatory: * Experience of forklift driving * Forklift driving license Reach and Counterbalance - refresher will be given if expired Desirable:Knowledgeable of ERP SAP environment * Basics Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S* Competencies & Skills * Team spirit & flexibility * Desire to perform well* Reliable & well organized* Familiar with IT environment* An agile, inclusive and responsible attitudePLEASE NOTE ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUGS AND ALCOHOL TEST BEFORE BEING OFFERED A POSITION (this is standard procedure on Rail depots)
