About the Role
\nI am working with growing contractor based in Renfrewshire delivering a range of construction and refurbishment projects across the West of Scotland. Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial function of the business and manage a small commercial team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is commercially aware, organised, and capable of managing multiple
\nprojects while supporting and developing junior commercial staff.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nManaging the commercial performance of multiple construction projects
\nOverseeing and supporting a small team of Quantity Surveyors/Estimators
\nPreparing, reviewing, and negotiating subcontract agreements
\nMonitoring project costs, valuations, variations, and final accounts
\nManaging client applications and payment processes
\nProducing monthly cost/value reconciliation reports Identifying commercial risks and opportunities across projects
\nWorking closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget
\nAssisting with tender reviews and procurement activities
\nMaintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
\nRequirements
\nPrevious experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within construction
\nStrong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes Experience managing or mentoring a small commercial team
\nExcellent negotiation and communication skills
\nGood financial and analytical ability
\nAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environment Full UK driving licence
\nDesirable
\nExperience working with small to medium-sized contractors
\nKnowledge of refurbishment, fit-out, or general construction projects
\nDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
