\nPertemps are recruiting for a Pump Service Engineerto join a growing and specialist wastewater solutions provider. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically minded engineer to work across a variety of domestic, commercial, and industrial sites, carrying out servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on sewage treatment plants, pumps, and wastewater systems.\n
\nWorking independently in a field-based role, you will play a key part in maintaining customer systems, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and delivering a high standard of service. Each week, you will be provided with a planned work schedule and route, allowing you to effectively manage site visits while responding to customer requirements. This position would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working autonomously, and building strong relationships with customers.\n

Key Duties\n

- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs, and call-outs on sewage treatment plants, sewage pumps, and wastewater systems. \n
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs. \n
- Completing planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns. \n
- Liaising with customers on-site and providing updates on work undertaken. \n
- Working closely with the scheduling team and line manager to ensure jobs are completed efficiently. \n
- Providing accurate reports and feedback following site visits. \n
- Managing van stock and ensuring required tools and parts are available. \n
- Using mobile technology to manage daily schedules and job information. \n
- Supporting the delivery of excellent customer service across all contracts. \n
- Maintaining safe working practices at all times. \n
- \n
- Previous experience within pump engineering, wastewater, sewage treatment, or a similar engineering environment. \n
- Mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge. \n
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. \n
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. \n
- Excellent communication and customer service skills. \n
- A proactive attitudeand strong attention to detail. \n
- Comfortable working in a range of site environments. \n
- Full UK Driving Licence. \n
- \n
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications. \n
- 17th, 18th, or 19th Edition qualification desirable but not essential. \n
- CSCS Card desirable but not essential. \n
- Confined Spaces qualification desirable but not essential. \n
- Working Hours \n
- Full-time position. \n
- 45 hours per week. \n
- Field-based role covering customer sites. \n
- Weekly routes and schedules provided. \n
- Overtime available. \n
- Optional Saturday working available with a minimum 4-hour overtime rate. \n

- £34,000 - £40,000 basic salary. \n
