\nPerm: onsite 5 days
\nAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer specialising in hydraulic systems to join a leading engineering and R&D team delivering advanced industrial equipment. This role focuses on coordinating engineering hydraulic projects from design through manufacture, installation, commissioning and ongoing customer support.
\nYou will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget while meeting customer specifications. This is a varied, hands-on position combining technical engineering knowledge, project coordination and customer-facing responsibilities.As Project Engineer in Hydraulics, you will primarily site working closely with the engineers with travel required for installation, commissioning and customer support, including occasional international travel.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nCoordinate engineering projects covering design, manufacture, installation and commissioning
\nSupport hydraulic system setup, testing, calibration and fault finding (in-house and onsite)
\nEnsure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements
\nProduce and manage project documentation and technical reports
\nProvide customer training, technical support and service assistance
\nProject Delivery
\nCoordinate project activities to ensure delivery to agreed timelines and budgets
\nMonitor progress, resolve technical issues and report updates to management
\nPrepare installation plans, risk assessments and method statements
\nEnsure compliance with relevant standards, directives and HSE requirements
\nTechnical Engineering Support
\nSupport testing, calibration and performance verification of hydraulic systems
\nAssist with installation, commissioning and fault-finding activities
\nWork with multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control systems
\nSupport maintenance/service activities where required
\nCustomer & Operational Support
\nAct as technical liaison with customers throughout projects
\nProvide on-site technical support, commissioning assistance and training
\nDevelop operating manuals, procedures and documentation
\nQualifications & Experience
\nHND, degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
\nExperience working with hydraulic systems in an engineering or manufacturing environment (ideally low-volume, high-value equipment)
\nExperience with hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, valves or precision mechanical systems
\nExperience in sectors such as: Automotive, Aerospace or transportation; Heavy plant, construction machinery or energy; Industrial automation or specialist manufacturing
\nKnowledge of control systems, technology or industrial automation is advantageous.
\nGood understanding of hydraulic systems and general engineering principles
\nHands-on approach to testing, commissioning and troubleshooting
\nStrong communication and customer engagement skills
