Blue Arrow is proud to be working in partnership with a leading organisation within the metals recycling sector, who are now looking to recruit anElectrical Maintenance Engineerto join their team on a full-time permanent basis at their site based inMatlock.

Salary & Benefits Package:

  • £43,036.20 Basic Salary per annum
  • \n
  • £9,094 Shift Allowance per annum
  • \n
  • Annual Production Bonus- up to 10% of salary (following qualifying period)

  • Quarterly Production Bonus- up to £300

  • Quarterly Health & Safety Bonus- up to £60

  • Annual Blood Lead Bonus- up to £1,500

Shift Rotation

  • 2 x 12-hour Day Shifts (6:00am - 6:00pm)
  • \n
  • 2 x 12-hour Night Shifts (6:00pm - 6:00am)
  • \n
  • 4 Days Off
  • \n
  • Pattern repeats 7 times
  • \n
  • Followed by an impressive18 consecutive days off
  • \n
  • Annual leave built into the shift pattern
  • \n
  • Two 45-minute breaks per shift
  • \n
  • Attendance at training on non-rostered days enables employees to bank up to24 hours additional time offper year
  • \n

What Will You Bring To The Role?

\n

Reporting to the Shift Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a wide range of plant and equipment within a busy heavy manufacturing environment.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across a wide range of plant and equipment.
  • \n
  • Complete electrical installations, breakdown repairs and fault-finding activities to minimise downtime and maximise plant reliability.
  • \n
  • Take responsibility for electrical maintenance activities during night shifts and weekends when a Maintenance Coordinator is not onsite.
  • \n
  • Complete Task Specific Risk Assessments and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance activities.
  • \n
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, permits to work and relevant legislation.
  • \n
  • Safely isolate electrical equipment and verify isolations before commencing work.
  • \n
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently and accurately.
  • \n
  • Report any issues that may impact the safe, efficient or reliable operation of plant and equipment.
  • \n
  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are left clean, safe and organised.
  • \n
  • Use PPE, testing equipment, tools and always lifting equipment correctly and safely.
  • \n
  • Accurately record maintenance activities using computer-based maintenance systems.
  • \n
  • Correctly book parts from stores and apply appropriate cost codes.
  • \n
  • Promote and support a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality and Energy policies.
  • \n

What Will You Bring To This Role?

\n
    \n
  • Fully completed Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent
  • \n
  • Several years' post-apprenticeship experience, ideally within a heavy industrial, manufacturing or process environment
  • \n
  • BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) qualification desirable
  • \n
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • \n
  • Excellent understanding of electrical safety, isolation procedures and permit-to-work systems
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business
  • \n
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • \n
  • Proactive approach to maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement
  • \n
  • Good IT skills and the ability to maintain detailed electronic maintenance records
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team
  • \n
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance
  • \n
