Grounds Operative

ThePurposeofthisRole:GroundsOperative

ThisisaveryimportantpostwithintheGroundsandCleansingSectionoftheNeighbourhoodServices.TheofficerwillworkcloselywiththeCommercialandOperationsManager,alsoarangeofcolleaguestoenablethemtodeliverhigh-quality,veryvisible,commercialservicestopredominantlyexternalclientshowever,therewillalsobearequirementtoengagewithinternalclients.Keyareasincludebeingthefirstpointofcontacttoourexternalclients,inclusiveofMonmouthshireHousingAssociation,AneurinBevanHealthBoard,HeddluGwentPolice,andvariousotherclients.

GroundsmaintenanceprovidesanessentialserviceinensuringtheCountydeliversitsaspirationsofprovidinganenvironmentwhichissafe,cleanandsustainable.Groundsmaintenanceoperatives,eitherworkingindividuallyorasateam,willmaintainpublicopenspaces,verges,planting,schoolsandcontractedsitestoprovideaqualitygreenandsustainableenvironment.

Themajorityofthetimetheofficerwillbeundertakinggroundsmaintenanceactivities.However,youwillberequiredattimestoworkaspartofastreetservicesteam,maintaininglocalenvironmentalqualitywhichincludeslitterpicking,respondingtofly-tippingetc.

Youwillberequiredto:

• Carryoutyourroleinapoliteandorderlymanner

• Undertakeotherdutiescommensuratewiththegradeofpostiftherelevanttraininghasbeenprovided.

• Cleanandcurrentdrivinglicence(andHGVlicenceifapplicable)

• Completeanytrainingthatisrequiredtoundertakeyourrolesafelyandeffectively.
