\nContract type: permanent, with a fully founded Level 3 or 5 apprenticeship, depending on experience\n
\nWorking pattern: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am5pm\n

\nUppingham School, founded in 1584, is a leading co-educational independent boarding school with around 800 pupils aged 11 to 18 and approximately 550 staff. This apprenticeship offers a genuine start to a career in People and Culture, combining hands-on experience and mentoring with formal training towards a nationally recognised qualification. The role combines hands-on training delivery, operational coordination and system-based tracking, ensuring training activity across the School is visible, measurable and professionally run.\n

What you'll be doing\n
\nTraining planning and calendar management\n

- Own and manage the School's central training calendar \n
- Schedule sessions, book venues and coordinate resources \n
- Manage invitations, attendance lists and participant communications \n
- Work with departments to capture and schedule training needs \n
- Build strong relationships with internal and external training providers \n
\nTraining delivery and facilitation\n
\n

- Support the delivery of training sessions \n
- Help design and prepare training materials, including presentations and handouts \n
- Act as first point of contact for welcome and induction/onboarding training \n
\nTraining systems and data management\n
\n
- \n
- Maintain accurate training records \n
- Track and monitor mandatory and role-specific training completion \n
- Produce reports on attendance, completion rates and outstanding requirements \n
- Support system-based training workflows and improve how data is captured and used \n
\nStakeholder coordination\n
\n
- \n
- Act as a central point of coordination for training activity across the School \n
- Liaise with academic CPD leads, department leads and managers \n
- Coordinate with external providers where required \n
\nAdministration and continuous improvement\n
\n
- \n
- Manage training-related administration, registers and attendance records with accuracy \n
- Collect and collate feedback from sessions and support evaluation of effectiveness \n
- Support development and documentation of standardised training processes \n
- Identify opportunities to streamline scheduling and communications \n

- Confident communicator, able to present to and engage small groups \n
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent activities \n
- Comfortable coordinating across multiple stakeholders and priorities \n
- Strong IT skills (PowerPoint, Excel, systems/databases) \n
- High attention to detail, particularly in tracking and administration \n
- Proactive, reliable and consistent in operational delivery \n
- A positive, customer-focused approach to supporting staff development \n

- An interest in learning and development, teaching or coaching \n
- Experience delivering presentations or facilitating sessions \n
- Experience coordinating events, training or programmes \n
- Familiarity with HRIS, LMS or training management systems \n
