Job Title: Senior HGV Mechanic
\nLocation: Newark, Nottingham
\nSalary: £24.00 per hour (Days/Afters) or £27.00 per hour (Nights)
\nShift Patterns: Days/Afters: Rotating shifts (5:00am 2:00pm / 2:00pm 11:00pm) 45 hours per week Nights: Monday to Friday, 10:00pm 6:00am Average 40 hours per week
\nHGV Mechanic Benefits:
\nCompetitive hourly rate of £24.00 or £27.00 per hour depending on shift pattern
\nOvertime paid at time and a quarter after contracted weekly hours

\nKey Senior HGV Mechanic Responsibilities:
\nCarry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV trucks and trailers
\nDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
\nComplete routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities
\nPrepare vehicles and trailers for MOT testing and ensure DVSA compliance
\nConduct safety inspections and identify defects promptly
\nAccurately complete maintenance records and workshop documentation
\nEnsure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
\nMaintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
\nWork collaboratively with colleagues to minimise vehicle downtime
\nAdhere to all company health and safety procedures and industry regulations
\nRequired Skills & Experience:
\nFully qualified HGV Technician with City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or equivalent qualification
\nProven experience maintaining and repairing HGV trucks and trailers within a commercial vehicle environment
\nStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
\nExcellent understanding of DVSA regulations and vehicle compliance requirements
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team
\nHigh attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards
\nOwn transport essential due to site location
